About Gili Eco Trust
Gili Eco Trust is the environmental NGO working to protect the fragile ecosystems of the Gili Islands. Their programmes include coral reef restoration (transplanting fragments to regenerate damaged reefs), cidomo horse welfare (inspecting and improving conditions for the working horses), plastic waste collection, and marine debris cleanup. Visitors can volunteer for many of these activities, including reef dives for certified divers, beach cleanups open to everyone, and educational talks about the ecosystems.
It is a genuinely impactful organisation that welcomes travellers who want to give back during their stay.
